"Are not my days few... before I go whence I shall not return?" (Job 10:20,21). "Turn you at My reproof... They shall not find Me: for that they... did not choose the fear of the LORD" (Proverbs 1:23-29). "One of the malefactors which were hanged railed on Him... But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God?... And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise" (Luke 23:39-43).
Our
days to seek the Lord are few
Before
we leave and won't return.
Our
chance to choose Him is in view,
As
He is bidding us to turn.
The
Savior came to seek the lost
And
save their souls from condemnation.
He
gave Himself to pay the cost
To
justify them with salvation.
How
strange it is that some yet choose
To
turn away God's gift of grace!
They
hear His counsel, but refuse
To
find in Him a Hiding Place.
Our
Savior on the cross could hear
The
hateful mocking as He died.
Yet
even then one chose to fear:
A
malefactor at His side.
"Remember
me," he said to Christ,
In
his sincere and humble prayer.
It
was enough; his prayer sufficed!
Our
Lord assured then and there.
Lord,
thank You for the choice You give
To
call upon Your precious name
And
know because You live, we live;
It
was for this cause that You came.
The
chance to choose You as our Savior
Was
earned by You upon the cross.
O
Lord, we thank You for this favor
That
saves us from eternal loss!
