"God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding" (Psalm 47:7). "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10).
In all of creation, our God is the King,
No matter who does or who doesn't agree.
With this understanding we joyfully sing
To praise Him who rules by His sovereign decree.
In His exaltation, our God is commanding,
Unerring and holy in all of His ways.
How good is the knowledge that gives understanding
That fills us with peace, and inspires our praise!
In each situation, our God reigns supreme,
Though now for a season in weakness we groan,
Yet things now appearing are not what they seem:
When we shall behold Him, the truth shall be shown.
In our observation of God who is holy,
The fear of the Lord is our wisdom's beginning.
He gives understanding to those who are lowly,
To those will trust Him, and turn from their sinning.
O Lord of salvation, we bring You our praise,
For we are the object of Your wondrous love!
Receive from our heart now the song that we raise
For Your great redemption You sent from above!
In this demonstration, O Lord, of Your grace,
We're viewing ultimate price You have paid.
With this understanding, we're seeking Your face
To tell You we love You for such love displayed!
