"Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle... The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory" (Psalm 24:8-10). "A faithful ambassador is health" (Proverbs 13:17). "I counsel thee to keep the King's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God" (Ecclesiastes 8:2). "Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ... Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace" (Acts 18:5,9).
There is an answer to the question
"Who is the King of glory?" now.
We answer (not with vague suggestion):
To Christ shall every knee yet bow!
The fact that Jesus is the Christ
Is plain by all our Savior did,
And after He was sacrificed,
His resurrection was not hid.
Let His ambassadors proclaim
The blessings of His saving health:
"The King of Glory" is His name,
Who purchased our eternal wealth!
As Paul was pressed to tell Christ's story
And testify by God's command,
So we declare the King of Glory
Shall reign on earth as He has planned.
"Be not afraid... Hold not thy peace,"
The Lord had said to Paul one night.
So may we speak and never cease
To be ambassadors of light.
O Lord, how greatly we rejoice
In You, our mighty Lord in battle!
Since we, Your sheep, have heard Your voice,
We turn away from empty prattle.
As Your ambassadors, O Lord,
Prepare our hearts to answer well
The questions from those hearts outpoured
Who seek Your Hiding Place from hell.
