Wolves vs. the Word

"I love the LORD... for Thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling" (Psalm 116:1,8).  "The turning away of the simple shall slay them... but whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely" (Proverbs 1:32,33).  "I will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman, and between thy seed and her Seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel" (Genesis 3:15).  "Take heed... grievous wolves [shall] enter in among you, not sparing the flock" (Acts 20:28).

The Lord is worthy of our love
Who has delivered us from falling
By leaving heaven's throne above
To save all those upon Him calling.

Alas!  How many turn away
From heaven's message they have heard,
As wolves are waiting then to slay
The souls that cast away God's Word!

Our Savior crushed the serpent's head
As no one else on earth could do,
Yet some will turn to wolves instead
Of Christ who proved His Word is true!

Lord, even now as wolves are lurking
And seeking those they may devour,
We pray that You will find us working
And holding forth Your Word with power.
