"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him... and he died" (Genesis 5:1,5). "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man" (Psalm 118:8). "The LORD shall be thy confidence" (Proverbs 3:26). "God... hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know His will... for thou shalt be His witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard" (Acts 22:14,15).
The record found in Genesis
Regarding Adam testified
Throughout his generation this:
The way of man is that "he died."
How rightly then do we conclude
That it is better far to trust
In God than in a multitude
Of men who soon return to dust.
The Lord shall be our Confidence,
Who died for us and rose again.
Our Savior is our strong Defense;
Be done, therefore, with trusting men.
O Christ, our Confidence and Savior,
You've chosen us to know Your will,
So help us to declare Your favor
As we are trusting in You still.
