"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country... unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will bless thee... and thou shalt be a blessing" (Genesis 12:1,2). "Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage" (Psalm 119:54). "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22). "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth" (Romans 1:16).
There
was a land the Lord would show
To
Abram when he left his nation,
And
now, in retrospect, we know
The
purpose of his separation.
The
Lord had said he would be blest
And
be a blessing with God's favor.
We,
too, are pilgrims with this quest
To
bring the Gospel of our Savior.
The
Lord has cheered us with His song
As
His salvation is proclaimed.
Our
pilgrimage shall not be long:
Be
neither weary, nor ashamed!
Our
pilgrimage is purposeful,
O
Lord, in every time and place
That
You appoint a needy soul
To
hear the Gospel of Your grace.
