"And they said... let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth... So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth" (Genesis 11:4,8). "So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in Thy Word" (Psalm 119:42). "If thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it" (Proverbs 9:12). "Well spake the Holy Ghost by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers... their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed" (Acts 28:25-27).
The
builders of that ancient tower
Had
thought in vain they could resist
The
Lord, as they defied His power
With
scorn as His antagonist.
We
have the answer of God's Word
For
those who would resist Him still.
Let
all who scorn Him be assured
That
they shall never thwart His will.
Isaiah
rightly prophesied
Of
ears so dull and eyes so blind
To
warn the rebels in their pride
Of
judgment that the scorners find.
Lord,
as we hear the tumult rise,
We
answer and are unashamed.
Antagonism
full of lies
Cannot
defeat Your truth proclaimed.
