“Jesus
saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the
brim. And He saith unto them, Draw out
now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it… When the ruler of the feast had tasted the
water that was made wine… the governor of the feast called the bridegroom and
saith unto him… thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana
of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory; and his disciples believed on Him”
(John 2:7-11).
The
servants heard our Lord’s command
To
fill the waterpots that day
With
water which was near at hand;
Their
wisdom was to just obey.
It
is an old, familiar story,
That
Christ changed water into wine
And
manifested forth His glory,
With
attributes that were Divine.
Among
the lessons we can learn
By
studying this wedding feast,
Is
fuller blessing we discern
When
our obedience is increased.
The
servants thus obeying Him
Could
fill the pots at halfway measures.
They
filled them rather to the brim
And
glory shined with fuller treasures.
O
Lord, how often do we stall
When
You have told us what to do!
O
help us rather give our all,
Surrendering
our hearts to You.

I thought this a beautiful testament to what the Lord can do for the faithful and obedient Christian. Your words have inspired me this morning. Saw your post on schoolfeed and wanted to stop by. Awesome, inspirational piece. Great job! Your collection would be a terrific coffee table book.
Thank you for your encouragement! I am hoping to publish another book soon with a complete collection. I have a book out now (available at Amazon.com) called Morning by Morning with the first 1,025 poems. Lord willing, I would like to include the entire 3,000 poems in the next edition (today's poem is 2,996... we're almost there). Thanks again for your kind words.
