Taste and Trust

"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together… This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him… O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him" (Psalm 34:3,6,8).  "As I made my journey… suddenly there shone from heaven a great light… and I… heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?  And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And He said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest" (Acts 22:6-8).

O let the Lord be magnified!
O taste His goodness in salvation!
When we in desperation cried,
He saved our souls from condemnation.

It doesn't really matter whether
We trusted Christ when young or old.
Let us exalt His name together
With every testimony told.

As Paul began  to tell his story
About when his salvation came,
It was his goal to give Christ glory,
So others, too, might trust His name.

Lord, in this place of transient dust
Where all we see shall pass away,
We plead with souls to taste and trust
Your grace while it is called TODAY.
