"David abode in the wilderness… and Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand" (1 Samuel 23:14). "LORD, by Thy favor Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong… to the end that my glory may… not be silent" (Psalm 30:7,12). "Good understanding giveth favor: but the way of transgressors is hard" (Proverbs 13:15). "Then spake the Lord to Paul… hold not thy peace: for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city" (Acts 18:9,10).
Our
path may be a wilderness
With
enemies who seek our life,
As
David who was in distress,
But
God delivers us from strife.
It
was God's favor, in the end,
That
made His servant David strong,
As
he was taught to thus depend
On
His protection all day long.
The
sinners who do not regard
The
favor of God's saving grace,
Increasingly
shall find it hard
To
bear the hopelessness they face.
Lord,
as we're furthered by Your favor
To
speak as You've commanded us,
We
magnify You as our Savior
With
mercies that are marvelous!
