"In thee, O LORD, do I hope… Make haste to help me, O Lord my Salvation" (Psalm 38:15,22). "I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness… to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me… Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great" (Acts 26:16-18).
Our
hope and help is from above
Through
Christ, the Lord of our salvation,
That
we may show His light and love
To
every kindred, tongue, and nation.
When
Christ appeared with sweet surprise
To
make a minister of Paul,
A
witness that would open eyes,
He
was a debtor then to all.
By
Christ we likewise are ordained
To
shine in darkness with His light,
As
warriors that have been trained
Against
the gates of hell to fight.
O
Lord, our hope and help is found
From
You alone, our God and Savior,
To
show Your mercies that abound
As
we proclaim Your saving favor.
