"The Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with… thirty thousand chariots… And Jonathan said… Come, and let us go over unto the garrison… for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few" (1 Samuel 13:5; 14:6). "Some trust in chariots… but we will remember the name of the LORD our God" (Psalm 20:7). "Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him… and preached unto him Jesus" (Acts 8:29-35).
The Philistines
were set to fight
With thirty-thousand
chariots placed
To conquer
Israel with their might,
But God stepped
in, and they were chased.
There's no restraint
with God to save,
By many or by very
few.
He rose
triumphant from the grave,
And all His foes
He shall subdue.
Though some, in
vain, are still embracing
Their chariots with
confidence,
We follow
Christ, who yet is chasing
Satanic hosts in
our defense.
All chariots are
not the same,
We learn by Philip in his chase.
So may we preach,
O Lord, Your name,
As we are Spirit-led
with grace.
