"I believed, therefore have I spoken" (Psalm 116:10). "A faithful ambassador is health" (Proverbs 13:17). "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart" (Jeremiah 15:16). "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
Let all who have the words of God
Be faithful in the place they are
At home or mission fields abroad
As His ambassadors afar.
The words of God give great delight
As food that satisfies the soul,
As we divide their truth aright
With counsel that is wonderful.
We study as a workman would
To teach the truth we have proclaimed,
To show that God is truly good,
And preach the Gospel unashamed.
Lord, grant us grace to be assured
That we have been approved by You
As workman with Your precious Word
Declaring what You show is true.
