"Make me to understand the way of Thy precepts: so shall I talk of Thy wondrous works... Remove from me the way of lying" (Psalm 119:27,29). "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end" (Proverbs 19:20). "Unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death" (Jeremiah 21:8). "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual" (Philemon 1:6).
We need to talk of truth in love
As God has given understanding.
We need instruction from above
To thus proclaim what He's commanding.
How gracious is the Lord's command
Which gives humanity a choice!
His counsel in the end shall stand
And save those who will heed His voice.
It's not what people want to hear
That should direct what we will say,
But rather what the Lord makes clear
In counsel that we must obey.
O Lord, make us effectual
With faith in our communication
To talk of truth that saves the soul
As we proclaim Your great salvation!
