"O come, let us worship... our Maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart... Your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My work... unto whom I sware in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest" (Psalm 95:6-11). "Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven... Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not... in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21-23).
Let
words depict a true devotion
Instead
of superficial chatter.
The
Lord discerns the vain commotion
Of
worthless words that only flatter.
We
hear the wondrous invitation
To
worship God, our great Creator.
He
is the Lord of our salvation;
Behold
His love: there is none greater!
Yet
it is possible to say
Such
words and still be insincere.
The
Holy Spirit calls "TODAY"
To
come to Christ "if ye will hear."
TODAY
the lost may hear His voice
With
hearts that turn and are not hardened.
The
time is NOW to make the choice
To
trust in Christ and thus be pardoned.
How
empty is the mere tradition
Of
worthless words and vain behavior
From
those who trusted in religion
Instead
of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
O
Lord, You have addressed that scene
When
many hearts shall be revealed
That
said the words they didn't mean,
And
thus their souls were NEVER healed.
Lord,
send us forth that we may plead
With
souls to turn in TRUTH to You,
Forsaking
worthless words that lead
To
pleasant speech that is not true.
