"Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).
We
hear the commands of our Lord
To
come, take His yoke, and to learn.
How
wonderful is His reward
To
those who obey Him in turn!
Our
Savior is meek and is lowly,
Yet
He is majestic as well.
Though
uncompromisingly holy,
He
stooped to redeem us from hell.
In
Jesus alone there is rest,
Who
suffered and died in our place.
In
Christ we forever are blest
Who
freely extends to us grace.
How
easy His yoke is to bear;
His
burden is graciously light.
We
cast on the Lord all our care,
And
we are preserved in His sight.
O
Lord, we have heard Your commands,
So
clearly reflecting Your love.
We
see by the wounds in Your hands
The
reason You came from above.
How
comforting, Lord, are Your ways,
Commanding
and keeping our soul.
We
lift our thanksgiving and praise
For
mercies unspeakably full!
