"Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed... for the battle is not yours, but God's... Ye shall not need to fight in this battle... stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you" (1 Chronicles 20:15,17). "O sing unto the LORD a new song, for He hath done marvelous things: His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory. The LORD hath made known His salvation: His righteousness hath He openly shewed" (Psalm 98:1-3). " Fear ye not therefore" (Matthew 10:31).
The
Lord has said "Be not afraid,"
And
thus our joy and peace restores.
Our
God will fight, be not dismayed
Because
the battle is not yours.
Praise
God! We do not need to fight
The
battle we could never win!
Our
God Himself has put to flight
Our
foe accusing us of sin!
Our
Lord commands us, "Stand ye still,"
That
we may see His great salvation.
Behold
Him on the cross fulfill
The
work removing condemnation!
The
new song God has given us,
Whom
He has rescued thus from harm,
Declares
His work is marvelous
By
His right hand and holy arm!
The
Lord has made salvation known;
He
has displayed it openly.
His
righteousness that He has shown
Has
been foretold in prophecy.
O
Lord, with judgment drawing near,
You
drew our hearts to look above,
And
You delivered us from fear
When
we responded to Your love!
Lord,
teach us how to reach the lost
To
show the battle You have won
Because
You paid the awful cost,
Declaring
that the work is done.
Lord,
neither fear nor fight remain;
We
sing with joy forevermore!
You
laid Your life down for our gain;
As
we remember, we adore.
