Mountain Maker

“O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come.  Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, Thou shalt purge them away… O God of our salvation, [Thou] art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, which by [Thy] strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power” (Psalm 65:2-6).

The God who makes the mountains stand

Is able to remove them too, 
Yet come and see how God has planned
And thus removed our sins from view!

Behold Him clothed in majesty

Who makes the mountains wonderful! 
Behold Him meet eternally
Redemption’s price for every soul!

For now He hears when we have prayed

And draws us near who seek His face.
Does not this dwarf the mountains made
As we explore His saving grace?

The mountains by His strength stand fast,

As does the whole of His creation.
Yet these shall pass away at last,
Unlike His marvelous salvation! 

O Lord, we stand in awe of You,

As mountains manifest Your praise,
Yet even more now as we view
Salvation, which Your grace displays.
