“I
know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought
them into the land” (Deuteronomy 31:21).
“Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart, and lean not unto thine own
understanding…. Be not wise in thine own eyes…. The Lord by wisdom hath founded
the earth; by understanding hath He established the heavens… He giveth grace
unto the lowly… but shame shall be the promotion of fools” (Proverbs 3:5-35). “Turn from these vanities unto the living
God, which made heaven, and earth, and all things that are therein” (Acts
14:15).
God
ponders the imagination
Before
the sinner goes astray.
Their
thoughts are just an imitation
Of
fools who, like them, turned away.
We’re
called to trust the Lord alone
And
lean not on our understanding.
The
heavens and the earth have shown
It’s
wise to do as He’s commanding.
There
is no wisdom without God,
But
rather darkness and confusion.
It’s
wise to trust His staff and rod
To
guide us to a right conclusion.
The
Lord by wisdom made the earth;
By
understanding made the skies.
He
gave the universe its birth:
Should
we be wise in our own eyes?
We’re
called to turn from vanity
And
trust Lord who made all things,
Approaching
with humility
To
worship Him, the King of kings!
We
see His wisdom in creation:
The
heaven, earth, and things therein,
Yet
greater still in His salvation,
We
see the way He purges sin!
O
Lord, we humbly offer praise
And
with our heart and voice proclaim
The
glory of Your wiser ways
That
rescued us from sin and shame!
