“When
I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which
thou hast ordained, what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
(Psalm 8:3,4). “God that made the world
and all things therein… giveth to all life, and breath, and all things, that
they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him,
though he be not far from every one of us” (Acts 17:24-27).
In
view of all that God ordained,
The
heavens, earth, and all therein,
How
can God’s love be explained
That
made Him suffer for our sin?
The
moon, the stars, the galaxies,
The
sun, the planets that He made,
The
earth established on the seas,
And
everything therein obeyed.
But
man would exercise his will
To
turn from God and go astray.
Yet
God would seek to save him still
With
love that would not turn away.
What
love is this from God so kind
Which
to the rebel sinner gave
A
way to seek the Lord and find
Salvation from his hopeless grave?
O
Lord, You gave Yourself to heal
And
save us from eternal loss!
You
drew our hearts, and we could feel
Your
wondrous love upon the cross!
Dear
Lord, we find it marvelous
That
You were mindful so of man,
That
You laid down Your life for us
To
carry out redemption’s plan!
