“And
she [Rahab] said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land…
for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath… And the
men said unto her… Behold, when we come into the land… thou shalt… bring thy
father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home
to thee… it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house
into the street, his blood shall be upon his head” (Joshua 2:9-19). “Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall
obtain favor of the LORD. But he that
sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death”
(Proverbs 8:35,36).
Odd
is okay if you happen to be
The
only one turning to God.
Rahab
was found in the minority
When
seeking the Lord appeared odd.
Odd
is okay, though you find you’re divided
From
those in your nearest of kin.
Only
the kindred who with Rahab sided
Found
refuge from judgment for sin.
Odd
is okay, if you’re finding the favor
Of
God who made heaven and earth,
Obtaining
approval alone from the Savior,
Who
sets you apart with new birth!
Odd
is okay, though you’re bound to be hated
For
daring to challenge the schools
Teaching
as “science” that nothing created
This
universe God surely rules.
Odd
is okay, when our new destination
Is
not with those going to hell,
Though
we persuade them to flee condemnation
By
trusting the Savior as well!
Odd
is okay, precious Lord, since we know
That
we have found grace in Your sight.
Grant
us the boldness to faithfully show
In
darkness Your marvelous light.
