Psalm 31:5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Proverbs 13:8 The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
Numbers 16:48 And he [Aaron] stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
Colossians 2:13-15 You, being dead… he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses… having spoiled principalities and powers… triumphing over them in it.
The words of Christ when He expired
Were by the psalmist prophesied.
The ransom that our souls required
Was paid in full when Jesus died.
Where Aaron stood, the plague was stayed
Between the living and the dead,
Portraying Christ who for us prayed
And triumphed for us in our stead.
