Covenant of Compassion

"The LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of His covenant" (2 Kings 13:23).  "Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness " (Psalm 97:12).  "The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil" (Proverbs 19:23).  "Stand therefore, having… your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace" (Ephesians 6:14,15).

Give thanks to God for His compassion

As we remember He is holy. 

It was His love that made Him fashion

A covenant to save the lowly. 

The righteousness that God has given

By covenant is through His grace,

For otherwise we would be driven

From God without a hiding place.

It was for this our Savior died

And fought for us the deadly strife,

So judgment could be satisfied

That we might have eternal life. 

O Lord, Your covenant to us

Displays compassion never ending! 

Your Gospel truth is marvelous

That offers peace You are extending.
