Elijah prayed
that he might die
As he expressed
his heart's desire.
How gentle was
the Lord's reply,
Not in the wind,
or quake, or fire.
It was a gentle,
still, small voice
Elijah in his
sorrow heard,
That made his
heart again rejoice
With secret
solace from God's Word.
The secret of
the Lord is found
With those who
humbly seek His face.
To such His
solace shall abound,
For to the lowly
He gives grace.
The secret
solace of our soul,
O Lord, is now
our proclamation
To show Your
Gift Unspeakable:
Your sacrifice
for our salvation!
