Time to Triumph

"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom… and let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us" (Psalm 90:12,17).  "Through wisdom is an house built; and by understanding it is established… by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war… Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:  so shall thy poverty come as one that traveleth; and thy want as an armed man" (Proverbs 24:3,6,33,34). 

Our days on earth are very few;

There is no time for us to waste.

Let us be wise in all we do,

Obeying God's command with haste. 

This is a time for faithful duty,

To build and battle for the Lord,

As God bestows on us His beauty,

That Jesus Christ may be adored. 

A little sleep, a little slumber,

A little folding of the hands,

Shall waste our days, so few in number,

As we are slack with His commands. 

O Lord, for such a time as this,

That we may triumph by Your power,

So teach us that we may not miss

Your purpose for us every hour.
