Peace and Power

"Behold, I give unto him [Phinehas] My covenant of peace… because he was zealous for his God" (Numbers 25:12,13).  "Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee… no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly" (Psalm 84:11).  "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" (Proverbs 18:10).  "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down" (Revelation 12:10). 

There is a covenant of peace

Extended from the Lord Almighty 

With power that He will increase

In those who choose to walk uprightly.

So as we run to Jesus Christ,

He gives to us His peace and power

With grace that always has sufficed

To keep us safe within His tower. 

We know our enemy is strong

With his relentless accusation,

And though our list of sins is long,

They're blotted out by God's salvation!

O Lord, Your peace is marvelous

Provided with salvation's crown

With power You extend to us

That casts our soul's accuser down!
