The
people in the wilderness,
Whose
prayers were uttered uselessly,
Were
not sincere in their distress,
Approaching
God with flattery.
Their
prayers may have been eloquent
With
desperation in their plight,
Yet
sadly they did not repent
Because
their heart was still not right.
The
day shall come when men will call
On
rocks (which cannot see or hear)
To
heed their pointless prayer to fall
And
hide them from the Lamb they fear.
O
Lord of all humanity,
Amid
the pointless prayers today,
Break
through the dark insanity
To
save those who will humbly pray.
