Faithful Hearts Fear Him

"Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation… And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit" (Number 27:16-18).  "Unite my heart to fear Thy name" (Psalm 86:11).  "A faithful man who can find?... The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts" (Proverbs 20:6,27).  "I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven… Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him" (Revelation 14:6,7). 

The Lord is searching everyone

To find the faithful who will lead,

Like Joshua, the son of Nun,

In whom God's Spirit was indeed. 

Let faithful hearts, like Joshua's,

Be unified by godly fear

In whom the Holy Spirit was

To make his path and purpose clear. 

The Lord has searched our inward parts,

As with a candle never dim,

To purge distraction from our hearts

That we might fear and follow Him. 

Let faithful hearts be found, O Lord,

In us who fear and worship You,

Rejoicing in the great reward

Of pleasing You in all we do.
