Kneel to Know

"Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good… Surely it is meet to be said unto God… That which I see not teach Thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more" (Job 34:4,31,32).  "Let God be magnified" (Psalm 70:4).  "The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit" (Proverbs 12:5).  "Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God" (Luke 16:15). 

There's one way to know what is real,

For truth is a pure absolute: 

In prayer with God's Word let us kneel,

That we may be taught to bear fruit. 

Let God in our thoughts be supreme;

Consider His Word to be right,

For that which men highly esteem

Is evil in God's holy sight. 

How foolishly men justify

Themselves when our God is ignored! 

This changes the moment they die,

For then they are judged by the Lord.   

Lord, teach us today what is true,

Exposing the falsehood as well. 

We kneel to know it from You;

There's no other way we can tell.
