"I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee" (Job 42:5). "We will not hide… His wonderful works that He hath done" (Psalm 78:4). "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them" (Proverbs 20:12). "The prophets have spoken: ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself" (Luke 24:25-27).
The sound was
sweet that met the ear,
And happy also
was the eye,
When angels said,
"He is not here!
Come, see the
place where He did lie!"
We'll neither
hide what He has done
Nor what He said
that He would do.
He kept His
promises, each one,
And what His prophets
said was true.
How clearly have
the prophets spoken
Of Christ's
affliction and His glory.
There was no
promise that was broken,
For Christ
fulfilled redemption's story.
The hearing ear
is satisfied,
The eye is happy
now to see,
O Lord, the
truth we will not hide
That You
fulfilled in prophecy!
