"There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall... flourish like grass of the earth... Let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen" (Psalm 72:16,19). "For, lo, I will command, and I will sift... among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth" (Amos 9:9). "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away" (Luke 21:33).
How
small was that handful of corn,
Those
few then declaring the story
Of
Christ, once the Object of scorn,
Who
now fills the earth with His glory!
The
Lord will command and will sift,
As
corn He retains in a sieve,
To
save every soul He will lift
With
grace that He freely will give.
Our
Lord will complete what He started;
No
promise He made shall be broken.
When
heaven and earth have departed,
His
words shall not pass which are spoken.
O
Lord, we give thanks for Your Word
By
which You are sifting each nation
And
saving the souls who are stirred
To
call upon You for salvation.
