Ignorant Indifference

"Come and see the works of God... Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul" (Psalm 66:5,16).  "The lion hath roared, who will not fear?  The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:8).  "There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth... for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found" (Luke 15:10,32).

Invite the lost to see and hear

The works of God in all the earth. 

The prophecies fulfilled are clear,

And hearts are changed by second birth. 

There is a danger we can see

As hearts increasingly are cold

That turn away with apathy

From truth which prophets have foretold.

Like those who know the lion roared,

Yet willfully are ignorant,

Prophetic warnings from the Lord

Are mocked by the indifferent. 

O Lord, You saw us from above

In ignorant indifference,

Yet now we muse upon Your love 

And rest with joy in Your defense!
