“I trusted in Thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God… Oh how great is Thy goodness, which Thou hast laid up for them that fear Thee; which Thou hast wrought for them that trust in Thee before the sons of men!” (Psalm 31:14,19). “The thoughts of the righteous are right” (Proverbs 12:5). “Him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind… prayed Him [Jesus] that he might be with Him. Howbeit Jesus… saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee” (Mark 5:15-19).
In
view of the great evidence
Which
shed an abundance of light,
To
trust in the Lord just made sense;
No
other response would be right!
Responding
to Christ’s invitation,
I
opened the door of my heart;
He
entered with so great salvation,
And
promised to never depart!
I
think of that poor man afflicted
With
so many demons possessed:
When
Christ came they all were evicted!
How
grateful he was and how blessed!
He
prayed then to be with his Savior;
But
Christ told him then to return
To
friends and declare the Lord’s favor,
Which
they could behold and discern.
How
rightly we love You, O Lord,
Recalling
that You loved us first!
Your
own life for us was outpoured,
To
bless us who once had been cursed!
Your
light, Lord, upon us has dawned
With
mercy that shines from Your face
To draw us to rightly respond
And
trust You to save us by grace.
Lord,
send us to show others now,
In
spite of this world that taunts,
The
grace that You wait to endow
With
every right-minded response.
