Giving Back as God Blesses

“Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness… The LORD will give strength unto His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace” (Psalm 29:1,2,11).  “The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.  The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:21,22).  “No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house” (Mark 3:27). 

We give as God gives to us first;

We worship in His holiness,

For Christ gave Himself for the cursed

Whom He would abundantly bless. 

The Lord will give strength to His own

And bless all His people with peace. 

He bids us to come to His throne

For mercies that never will cease. 

There’s nothing God ever will need

Since He is the Giver of all,

But we have the honor to feed

The sheep that to us He will call. 

The lips of the righteous feed many

With wisdom this world will lack. 

Since those without God don’t have any,

We study God’s truth we give back. 

Remember we once were in prison

Till Jesus Christ rescued our soul,

And with Him we likewise are risen

In newness of life that is full. 

Though many are snared by the lies

That Satan continues to spread,

The Gospel of God testifies

To those who will hear what He said. 

So let us be ready to speak

And give back whatever God gave

That souls may be prompted to seek

Our Savior alone who can save.

O Lord, we give thanks that You came

To suffer that we might be blest.

You took away all of our shame

And gave us salvation and rest! 

Lord, make us your messengers now

Proclaiming Your Gospel of grace

With blessings You richly endow

To those humbly seeking Your face.
