"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the shadow of the Almighty.... He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust" (Psalm 91:1,4). "Now therefore, hearken unto Me, O ye children, for blessed are they that keep my ways.... For whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD" (Proverbs 8:32,35). "For the Son of Man is come to save that which was lost" (Matthew 18:11).
How great are the lessons creation provides,
Since God, for this purpose, has ordered all things.
We see in the place where the fledgling abides
God's care is portrayed in the ways of His wings.
Behold now the wings of an eagle in flight,
Displaying the strength that will rise up again.
Consider the wings that will shelter from fright
The chickens thus gathered by their mother hen.
The Guide Book of Scripture so clearly unveils
These types which provide us such portraits of Christ.
Their beauty is wondrous, yet each of them pales
In view of our Savior for us sacrificed!
O Lord, we're beholding a wonderful Savior
Portrayed in the sheltering wings of a bird.
We see in these portraits Your mercy and favor;
We rest in the shadow of Your faithful Word.
