"Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?.... The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity" (Psalm 94:8-11). "The integrity of the upright shall guide them" (Proverbs 11:3). "And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, He will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?.... And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell" (Matthew 21:25-27).
How vain are the reasoning powers of man,
When guided by foolish and foregone conclusion!
In spite of our Maker's magnificent plan,
The brutish deny Him to their own confusion.
For how can a reasoning person conclude
The eye and the ear are just products of chance?
The more that creation around us is viewed,
We see God's omniscience wherever we glance!
Integrity guides us if we will be led
Where evidence leads us to see what is plain.
The Lord has fulfilled what the prophets have said;
Denying the Gospel is willfully vain!
O Lord, our integrity guides us to You,
For You are the Cause of creation's effect,
And You are the Author of all that is true
With evidence only a fool would reject!
