Fantastic Five

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles" (Psalm 103:2-5).

Among the countless benefits
That cause our souls to thrive,
The psalmist gratefully submits
His own fantastic five.

God pardons the iniquities
Of all those who will come.
He heals every soul's disease.
He pays redemption's sum.

God gives His own a crown like kings
With tender love and truth.
He feeds the soul the best of things,
Like eagles in their youth.

Indeed, as eagles mount and soar
Expanding thus their view,
We meditate and see much more
Of blessings, Lord, from You!

But O, the depth and endless treasure
In these five, Lord, we see!
Their benefits exceed all measure:
They span eternity!
