Sound of Safety

"For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever" (Psalm 12:5-7). "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.... safety is of the Lord" (Proverbs 21:30,31). "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).

There is the sound of safety heard
For those oppressed and poor:
It is God's pure and precious Word
Preserved forevermore.

The sighing of the needy soul
The Lord can surely hear.
The Word of God is rich and full
That brings salvation near.

There is no wisdom that can bind
The counsel of the Lord,
Nor understanding of the mind
That cancels His reward.

The safety of the Lord that came
By our Lord Jesus Christ,
The Word of God made flesh by name,
For us was sacrificed.

Thank You for the joyful sound
Of safety in our ears!
In Jesus Christ, the Word, we've found
A Refuge from our fears!
