"There are many devices in a man's heart, nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand" (Proverbs 19:21).
The counsel of the Lord will certainly prevail,
No matter what devices the hearts of men have planned.
Devices of His enemies in time He will derail,
And in the end the counsel of the Lord alone shall stand.
It doesn't really matter, after all is said and done,
How many vain devices against God are arrayed.
God will have the final word through Jesus Christ His Son,
And hearts that are indifferent now shall learn to be afraid.
How very good it is to know the counsel of the Lord
May give us rest and refuge with assurance of salvation.
For no one can derail the faith that God's Word will afford,
Since the counsel of the Lord shall stand in every situation.
