"Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow Him" (1 Kings 18:21). "Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved" (Psalm 80:19). "My son, if thou wilt receive My words… and apply thine heart… then shalt thou… find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:1-5). "Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also" (2 Corinthians 8:11).
Elijah's
question comes to us:
Now
"how long halt ye" still today?
Is
not our halting dangerous
When
God commands us to obey?
The
time has come for us to turn
To
God with ready hearts and hands.
How
long for blessing will we yearn,
Yet
halt to do what God commands?
If
we will hear and heed God's Word,
Then
we will find Him, as He said.
Should
not our halting hearts be stirred
To
follow where our Lord has led?
O
Lord, forgive our halting hearts
That
may be hesitating still,
And
turn us, as Your grace imparts
The
strength to now perform Your will.
