Wisdom Promised for His Way Proclaimed

"The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He promised him" (1 Kings 5:12).  "God be merciful unto us, and bless us… that Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations" (Psalm 67:1,2).  "Be wise in thy latter end… The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil" (Proverbs 19:20,23).  "I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you… ye do show the Lord's death till He come" (1 Corinthians 11:23,26). 

The promised wisdom was assured

Which God to Solomon had shown

So that he might proclaim God's Word

And make His way to nations known. 

The Lord is merciful to us

And gives us wisdom to this end,

To show His way so marvelous

Of saving health He will extend.

The fear of God proclaims His way,

For by it we are led to Christ,

Who died for us that He might pay

Our debt when He was sacrificed. 

Your promised wisdom, Lord, we learn

So that Your way may be proclaimed.

We show Your death till You return

And preach Your Gospel unashamed.
