"[God] doth… devise means, that His banished be not expelled from Him" (2 Samuel 14:14). "I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever" (Psalm 52:8). "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:1,2).
How
soon every hope would have vanished,
If
not for the love of our Savior.
Each
one of us would have been banished,
If
not for His mercy and favor.
We
trust in His mercy forever,
Without
which we would be expelled.
His
justice and judgment are never
Forgotten
and must be upheld.
Yet
mercy and truth have sufficed
To
satisfy holy demands
By
means of our Lord Jesus Christ
Who
now as our Advocate stands.
By
means of Your mercy, O Lord,
Our
life we would wisely surrender,
A
sacrifice living, restored
To
You, our great God and Defender.
