"The LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said… Give… an understanding heart to judge Thy people… And the speech pleased the Lord" (1 Kings 3:5-10). "O Thou that hearest prayer… blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee" (Psalm 65:2-4). "The LORD trieth the hearts" (Proverbs 17:3). "Woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel… that I might by all means save some!" (1 Corinthians 9:16,22).
When
Solomon asked to be wise,
His
passion for people then shown
Was
pleasing before the Lord's eyes,
And
God made His pleasure thus known.
We're
given the same invitation
To
pray with a purified heart
For
people who need His salvation,
Which
God by His grace would impart.
Consider
the passion of Paul,
Who
prayed for the souls he desired,
That
he might save some, if not all,
By
whatever means were required.
Your
passion for people, O Lord,
Shined
brightly for us on the cross.
Be
magnified, praised, and adored
For
saving our souls from such loss!
