"The king said… I will surely buy… at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing" (2 Samuel 24:24). "The righteous hath hope in his death" (Proverbs 14:32). "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?... And such were some of you… but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus… Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:9,11,20).
There is none
righteous; no, not one.
Our
righteousness came at a price,
Yet not by that
which we have done,
But by our
Savior's sacrifice.
Each day we're
closer to our graves,
But Christ is
all our confidence,
Who paid the only
price that saves
The humble sinner
who repents.
Unrighteousness was
once our lot,
But now we're
washed and justified
With precious
blood by which we're bought
When Christ our
Savior for us died.
This precious price
that You have shown,
O Lord, to be our
soul's Defender,
Reminds us that we're
not our own
And calls us
fully to surrender!
