"Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet Thy commandments are my delights" (Psalm 119:143). "The LORD shall be thy Confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken" (Proverbs 3:26). "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him" (James 1:12).
Though trouble, anguish, and temptation
Attend us as we serve the Lord,
We are assured of His salvation
And of His grace upon us poured.
The Lord shall be our Confidence
Who keeps our foot from being taken.
Our triumph comes by His defense,
Assuring us we're not forsaken.
How blest are we when we endure
Temptations which the Lord allows,
For thereby faith is made more sure
By grace to triumph He endows!
The greatest triumph in each trial
O Lord, is that we prove Your love
As we are gladdened by Your smile
And set our hearts on things above.
