"LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me" (Psalm 131:1). "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand" (Proverbs 19:21). "The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare... the work of the LORD our God" (Jeremiah 51:10). "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us... We love him, because He first loved us" (1 John 4:10,19).
This
world has no strategy
To
justify our sinful hearts,
And
as we ponder this we see
The
wisdom God alone imparts.
Regarding
such majestic matters,
What
plan could we ourselves devise?
Our
thought, like windswept chaff that scatters,
Without
God's counsel, is not wise.
Majestic
matters God has planned
Have
been revealed to declare
His
counsel which shall always stand
And
work of love beyond compare.
O
Lord, in matters of Your love,
You
leave us speechless with delight!
Majestic
mercy from above
Has
made us righteous in Your sight.
