“Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off” (1 Kings 20:11). “The assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet… All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD… They shall come, and shall declare… that He hath done this” (Psalm 22:16-31). “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD” (Proverbs 21:31). “Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after” (1 Timothy 5:24).
Let
not the one who boasts so loud
Deceive
you with his brazen laughter,
For
safety isn’t with the proud,
But
with our Savior ever after!
We
see this in Psalm twenty-two
Which
prophesied of Jesus Christ
Whose
hands and feet would be pierced through
When
He for us was sacrificed.
Behold
the wicked then enclose
Our
Lord within their congregation,
But
afterwards our Savior rose
To
conquer death and win salvation!
When
Jesus comes again to reign,
The
arrogant shall not rejoice,
For
boasters then shall not remain
When
judgment shall remove their voice.
The
saved shall then proclaim God’s favor
And
shout for joy as they declare
The
triumph of our Lord and Savior!
Let
boasters, therefore, now beware.
For
many sinfully applaud
Blaspheming
boasters in our day,
Unmindful
of the wrath of God
Who
shall reprove the things they say.
Lord,
thank You for deliverance
From
darkness where the boasters stumble,
For
You resist their arrogance,
But
offer grace to all the humble.
Lord,
show us how to reach the lost,
So
boasters may beware and face
The
truth that wrath is drawing near,
So
they may humbly find Your grace.
