“With the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption” (Psalm 130:7). “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22). “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us… We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:7,18).
In
Christ are mercies ever new;
He
has secured our soul’s exemption
From
wrath and sorrow which were due,
Removed
by plenteous redemption!
Redemption
that is plenteous
In
Christ forever shall abound.
Because
He gave His life for us,
There
is no added sorrow found!
These
treasures overflow the brim
Of
earthen vessels which He fills,
So
all the glory goes to Him,
And
every other boast, He stills.
We
look not at the things we see,
But
at the things invisible
Which
last for all eternity,
For
things now seen are temporal.
O
Lord, what riches here we find
In
righteousness You freely give!
We
find in You our peace of mind:
Because
You live, we also live.
Our
hearts, O Lord, by You are stirred
With
gratitude and adoration!
Redemption’s
riches are secured,
Which
we receive in Your salvation!
