“How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?” (Psalm 137:4). “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22). “I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:3).
As
we are walking through this land
That
mocks our God, how shall we sing?
We
just obey our Lord’s command
To
worship Jesus Christ our King!
Beware
of Satan’s subtlety
Which
leads the unsuspecting mind
To
turn from the simplicity
Of
perfect peace in Christ we find.
How
shall we sing our Savior’s song?
Indeed,
how shall we rather not?
The
thinking of this land is wrong;
Salvation’s
song should purge each thought.
A
merry heart that sings with joy,
Like
medicine, shall bring us health.
The
Psalms and hymns that we employ
Should
fix our hope on heaven’s wealth.
Beware
of Satan’s subtle actions
To
rob us of our confidence
By
turning us to vain distractions
Instead
of Christ, our soul’s Defense.
We
sing the praises of our Savior,
As
we proclaim the invitation
Extended
by His saving favor
Unveiled
in His great salvation.
O
Lord, we thank You for such grace
Astonishing
our hearts today!
O
may salvation’s song replace
The
lies yet leading souls astray.
