“The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit… Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy” (Proverbs 12:5,20). “We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain… Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation… Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord” (2 Corinthians 6:1,2,17).
There
is a way to know what’s right,
That
we may counter what is wrong:
The
Word of God shall give us light
With
counsel as we walk long.
There
is a counsel that is sweet:
Provided
in God’s precious Word
Which
will expose the dark deceit
Of
truth distorted and obscured.
God’s
grace is clearly marvelous,
For
God so loved us that He gave
His
Son who gave Himself for us
To
save us from a hopeless grave.
It
is with joy that we explain
The
reason He was sacrificed;
Now
hear the Gospel, not in vain,
Receiving
our Lord Jesus Christ.
We
hear the counsel of the lost
Who
say that nothing lies ahead.
Deception
has an awful cost,
Exchanging
truth for lies instead!
The
time is NOW for God’s salvation!
The
Gospel does not say “tomorrow!”
God’s
counsel calls for separation
To
flee from wrath and endless sorrow.
O
God our Father, we give thanks
For
counter counsel that You give
Which
now supplies Your army’s ranks
With
Gospel truth by which we live.
Now
train us with Your Spirit’s sword
With
counter counsel in this place
At
such a time as this, O Lord,
That
souls may find Your saving grace.
